Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist given once weekly by injection or daily as an oral tablet. The approved products are Wegovy (weight management, cardiovascular risk reduction; injectable and oral), Ozempic (type 2 diabetes) and Rybelsus (oral, type 2 diabetes). Through telehealth it is sold as the approved product, as a compounded injection, and in compounded forms (microdose, orally disintegrating, sublingual, with additives) that have no trial evidence of their own.

The labelled dose schedule used for cost comparison
0.25 mg for 4 weeks, then 0.5, 1, 1.7 and 2.4 mg at 4-week steps (Wegovy label); the reference curve stops at the 2.4 mg maintenance dose. This site prices every plan at the starting dose (0.25 mg/week) and at the reference maintenance dose (2.4 mg/week); the escalation cost curves follow the schedule month by month. These are comparison conventions from the label, not dosing advice.
